The
Police Activities League of the Coachella Valley (CV PAL) is a
collaborative between the Cities of Palm Springs, Cathedral City,
Desert Hot Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, and Indian Wells. This
program gives at-risk youth of all socioeconomic backgrounds (between
the ages of 6-18), a place to go, keeping youth off the streets.
Many of
the programs are offered at little to no cost and partial and/or full
scholarships are available. This program enables a strong
understanding of leadership as well as community-oriented events. PAL
is a youth crime prevention program that utilizes educational,
athletic and recreational activities to create trust and understanding
between police officers and youth.
The PAL
program brings youth under the supervision and positive influence of a
law enforcement agency and expands public awareness about the role of
a police officer and the reinforcement of the responsible values and
attitudes instilled in young people by their parents. |
